About the blue and gold macaw

Blue and gold macaw
Wooded areas are the normal habitats of these colourful macaws, which usually feed in the treetops.Their presence there is revealed by their loud, raucous caws, which are also uttered when the birds are in flight.Although normally observed in pairs or small family groups, blue and gold macaws do make larger flocks, consisting of up to 25 individuals on occasion. They are most likely to be observed in the morning and again at dusk,as they fly back and forth between their roosting and feeding sites. One of the main factors restricting the distribution of these macaws is the availability of suitable palm as nesting sites. They are quite adatable in their feeding habits, eating a variety of plant matter and even sometimes seeking nectar from flowers.
